One main question I get asked by players of all ages is "will lifting weights mess up my shot?" Well you may think that making your arms stronger will make you shoot the Basketball farther. This is actually true and not true at the same time... What do I mean by this your probably asking? 

If you workout and then play Basketball you will notice a difference in your shot and the feeling of shooting will also feel a bit different. This is why you should never play Basketball after you have been working out. This is obviously only if you go for an extreme workout, if you were to finish a light workout you may be able to still play Basketball. This all comes down to personal preference, if you decide to play Basketball after a workout and you feel like you need to change your shooting form STOP playing and wait until the next day. 

In conclusion No lifting weights will not effect your shot.
