<---- Back to Raptors Home

Who says that Basketball is not a physical game? The referees in this game were not calling much during the first three and a half quarters. I loved how Aaron Gray wrapped up Hansborough after all of the no call fouls. I absolutely HATE doing this but we have to blame this blame this loss on the referees, if they had called all of the obvious fouls this game would have ended up way different. However if the Raptors were able to convert half of their missed layups in the first half and were able to execute their half court in the second half we would not need to blame the refs!

On he other hand I am impressed by the Raptors Defence and their big Rookie during this first season game. Well the Raptors did loose against the Indiana Pacers 90-88 but their defence was spectacular during majority of the game leading against the Pacers in steals 12-3. Jonas Valanciunas also had a good showing in his first NBA season game, scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 1 blocked shot. Jonas Valanciunas was also a force in the post on offence and defence, on offence Jonas grabbed 6 offensive rebounds and were able to score off many including a nice put back slam dunk off a Bargnani miss.

As I said before the Toronto Raptors have an insanely deep Guard lineup, Kyle Lowry and Calderon killed it against the Pacers. Kyle Lowry had 21 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds and 5 steals, while Calderon had 15 points, 3 assists, 1 rebound, and 1 steal.

The Toronto Raptors have a lot of very good pieces that can create an extremely amazing team, I am expecting them to make the playoffs this year and surprise many of the critics.
