Beyond popular belief, there is injuries in Basketball and they are coming more and more prevalent over the past few years. I am one of the unlucky to be hit by not just one, but two. I have spoke briefly about my injuries before but never got into the details, I have received some messages about how I got the 2 major injuries, so here is my story.

In 2008 (the year I was entering into my first year of college) I was playing some pickup Basketball at the YMCA when I was on a fastbreak and that's when I went up for a dunk and a player cut me off and hip checked me while I was in the air. I flipped over his back and landed on my upper back. My lower back muscle swelled up and pinched my sciatic nerve. This injury kept me from playing Basketball for 3 months. I am extremely lucky I didn't land a different way as this had a possibility of paralyzing me. 4 years later and I still have days when my back pain is terrible and hard to walk.

In 2010 while at an NBA D-league training camp I tore my ACL, MCL, and Meniscus. 2 years, and 2 surgeries later I still have 5 months left of rehab and I will be 100% back on the Basketball court as a player. This all happened when I landed after a layup and after a few steps my knee gave out and bent in the opposite direction.

You now know my difficulties with injuries, please share any of your injury story's.
